As I celebrate World Prematurity Day, I feel privileged to be part of such a committed team of healthcare professionals. Together, we are united in our mission to deliver the highest quality care to our premature infants and their families.
A Day of Recognition and Celebration
On the 15th of November, 2024, I joined forces with incredible colleagues at Victoria Clinix Hospital in Mafikeng to commemorate World Prematurity Day. This special occasion provided a platform to shed light on premature birth and the unique challenges faced by both premature infants and their families.
A Day Filled with Awareness and Support
The event was a vibrant tapestry of activities, including a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, insightful speeches from healthcare experts, and an interactive Q&A session with parents with firsthand experience with premature babies. We also took pride in showcasing the exceptional work of our neonatal unit, which is dedicated to providing specialised care for these delicate newborns.
